Cavansite Tumbled often found in a matrix of white Stilbite and a grey basalt.
Cavansite is a rare, striking mineral known for its vivid blue to teal coloration, often forming in radiating clusters or botryoidal shapes. Scientifically, cavansite is a hydrated calcium vanadate, with the chemical formula (Ca(VO)₄·11H₂O). It typically forms in basaltic rock formations, particularly in areas of volcanic activity, where it crystallizes in cavities created by the cooling and chemical alteration of volcanic ash and lava. Cavansite is often found in association with minerals such as stilbite, calcite, and heulandite, primarily in locations like India, where it was first discovered in the 1970s. Its deep blue hues are due to the presence of vanadium, a rare trace element, which gives the stone its vibrant colour.
Metaphysically, Cavansite is considered a powerful stone for activating the third eye and throat chakras, enhancing communication, intuition, and spiritual awareness. Its blue colour is believed to promote mental clarity, facilitating a deeper connection to higher states of consciousness. Cavansite is said to aid in understanding the deeper meanings of dreams, visions, and inner wisdom, while also encouraging clear and articulate communication. As a stone of spiritual insight, it can help individuals overcome mental blocks and fears, allowing for a smoother flow of creative and intuitive energy. It is often used in meditation to promote calmness and to open the mind to new possibilities while also fostering a sense of emotional healing and balance.
